Located in the heart of downtown Fargo in the historic Black Building, Parallel Galleries showcases local, unique artist from all mediums. Artist Sophia Koskela and M. Koskela are owners and curators of the gallery. “We started Parallel Galleries as our way to include the community in the arts,” said Sophia and M. “Our goal is to bring together as many artists as we can.”
The Sean Coffman Fine Art Photography collection at Parallel Galleries includes framed editions of “Spring Sunset“, featuring a sunset silhouetting a solitary tree in a damp corn field, and “Chasing Sunsets“, an image featuring the pastels of a sunset over Leech Lake in Walker, Minnesota. Also available are a variety of archival print images, tote bags and greeting cards. The gallery will also be home to future limited edition prints, available only at Parallel Gallery. “It’s exciting to be a part of this new venture,” said Coffman.
A Grand Opening Reception, sponsored by Junkyard Brewing and Bridgetown Imprints, for the gallery is scheduled for Friday, May 6th from 5 – 9 pm. The Laughing Girls will be on-hand for a poetry performance, and Adele Koskela will be demonstrating her famous Zendels. Additional performances and sponsors to be added.
Parallel Galleries is currently open Monday through Saturday, 10 am – 6 pm. For more information about the gallery or the Grand Opening Reception, contact Parallel Galleries at (701) 478-9636 or visit their website at www.parallelgalleries.com.
